Barry,
I don't think so.
Maybe a dark Burgandy, which wouldn't be too bad either.

I used chemical stripper way back when I had my '69. Now when I'm ready to do the '79, I think I will go with blasting it off. The chemical stuff made me high, but back then, I didn't complain. The thing with chemical strippers is that it also worked on the bubba that was on the seams, but I don't know if the products have gotten better or not. My next choice would be a d/a sander. . Good luck on which ever.

Dave

Know whay guy's. A C3 can be any color of the rainbow and I'd still love it!!  Also on another note. I'm going to replace the winshield at the same time. Where's a good place to purchase and what kind of bucks should I plan on? Thanks, Terrymy7T138884.1795601852

Terry, I am stripping my 76 right now. It has been a long winded ride and it aint over yet... I called around in my area out as far as 50 mile radius and NO One would even touch my car with soda or plastic media. They were all concerned with damage to the fiber glass. So, with 5 coats of paint to get through I started with a razor blade knife. What I found that worked best is a flexable spackling knife sharpened to a very thin razor edge. With little effort I was able to get through the top 3 layers of paint back down to the factory paint and primer. I am now in the process of using a D/A sander and 80 then 150 grit sand paper to remove the last of the paint. The Candy Apple Red is long gone.   She will be going back into the original Silver. I will be using PPG Silver base/Clear though with an HVLP gun....
