I just bought  T Top weatherstriping. I removed the old stuff off. On the one side(door window side) Screws were used to help secure the weatherstrip on that side. The new weatherstrip dosen't provide holes for the screws. Is the newer weatherstrip use only adhesive?

Thanks,
Jon

my new weatherstrips had  holes for the screws... in that "straight , stiffer part of the strip.. and  on the rest of the strip are those plastic "pins"

maybe you have to punch through the strip??

I replaced the strip on my 71. Mine like yours didn't come with screw holes, but like art said I see no problem punching screws into it if you can get the old screws out. I didn't put the screws in as I just used 3m strip cement and the pins. It went fine, however you need to get the strip placed exactact, especially at the front corners where it meets the side window & pillar post. Mine left a small gap at the pillar post & once it was on there's not much I can do about it. To do again I would place the top in position before cement hardens to be sure its in place.

Thanks, Terry good advice. I destroyed my screws getting them out. Soft phillips heads with a little rust. I got out the dremel and slotted them to fit my large flathead screwdriver a little PB penetrant and wham enough torque to get them loose. I will get some stainless to replace them. jbs82vette2007-12-13 07:54:18
