Hi all! I'm a first-time vette owner; I just bought a 1981...where is the trim tag located?

It is located on the drivers side on the rail under the front windshield when you open the door. it has the numbers for the paint and inside trim color. Also do the vinn number decoder here under the tools tab up on top.

Thanks for the info. I already ran the VIN. I'm looking for the color code to see if it is original color. I think that it is, but I want the official colors for the registration. It is two tone, beige(cream?) and Maroon (burgundy?)

What numbers and letters appear on the "PAINT" and "TRIM" blocks?
1981 has two beiges: "Frost Beige" (59) and "Beige" (E50 or 50)
The burgundy-type color could be "Autumn Red Metallic" (E80 or 80) or "Dark Claret Metallic" (E98 or 98)
1981 finishes are unique because there were mid-year color changes that are specified in the color codes. From the dawn of the Corvette in 1953 through (at least) 1982, there was only one year with mid-year color changes: 1981.
More info on the codes, please.
Hope this helps.

The numbers on the tag read like this...
B 088 104827
641 50L 50U 74M E
I haven't been able to find a trim tag decoder so I'm not sure which numbers are for the color.

B088 = Car assembled @ Bowling Green August 8, 1981
104827 = VIN
641 = interior (camel, I think. Will verify)
50L = Beige (lower)
50U = Beige (upper)
74M = Dark Bronze Metallic (main) (Base coat/Clear coat finish)
E = Acrylic Enamel
I realize this may be a little redundant. Hope it helps.
