Ben, actually I hadn't heard that particular one yet (and, of course, it MUST be true!) |laugh|

I'm a junkie for this sort of trivia. But I haven't read anything authoritative that suppports that one. The '70 Corvette is one of the most myth-and-legend-prone of all. Start with the extended '69 production, stir in the autoworkers strike, add the (almost four months) delayed inititation of the '70 production year, top it all off with a shortage of actual production documentation and you have a powerful recipe for "Corvette Urban Legends."

Even though I haven't heard the "Carry-over finishes" one, we had a thread here in the last couple weeks from a guy with a '69 who may have '70 upholstery in his car (still up in the air, last I checked).

I have heard some wild '69/'70 stuff like "Special Indy Race Engine", "NASA Special Wheels", "Commemorative Apollo 13 Seat-Back Embroidery." They all seem to begin with something like, "my best friend told me his older sister used to date a guy whose cousin worked in the St. Louis plant . . ." |headscratch| |eek| |confusing|

Like I said, I'm into Vette trivia. If you could send me any link(s), I'd love to try and track it out.

Thanks

John
