Hello friends,
I just put new T-Top weatherstripping on my 75. All is well so far
.
My question is what is the proper method of shimming the center sliders
and should I expect to have to realign the A-pillar guide pins. As far
as the centers, I guess what I am asking is how do I determine the
number of shims required? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Scott

Are the tops not fitting now, or are you just axin' for info?
I can dig the info out of the AIM, if you need it, but with new w/strip, they may take a while to compress and fit just right. I remember when I did mine, the tops were pretty tight for a while, as far as getting them on & off, and they did sit just a wee bit taller than the rear 'hoop' until they took a "set". Now they fit just fine.

Thanks Joel,
Yeah, there fittin' a bit on the tight side. Seem to need a lot of manuevering to line up. Before they slid right in place and locked in. I'll give it a day or so to take a set.
Good to hear from you, take care.

Had the same thing here. Did the entire weather stripping less than 2 months ago, and TTops were the hardest to put back in place. It would take me a good 30 seconds to find the right spot. I can't remember how long it took to set, but it's fine now. I would think a few days.
Even after 2 months, I still have to slam the driver side door. This once must have been extra thick!

I know what you mean, Stephane. I had a really hard time with the w/strip on my driver side. I just had to let it sit with the doors closed for months to get it to take the correct shape.
I talked to a lot of guys about this issue, and that was the consences(?). Luckily, I don't get my '74 out much, so it worked out OK.
Scott, I think your tops will fit OK in a while. Just be careful taking them off & putting them on.(duh!)
