Vette(s): 1982 Collector Edition #3413

Is there any way to tighten the rear of the '82 T-Tops so no water gets to the interior?   And if you can.  How do you do this! Confused

Thanks.

You can adjust the 2 fingers that go into the center bar of the "T". They should have shims you can take out or add. I think taking them out will pull the top down. You can also replace the weather stripping on the tops.

Are you sure the water is coming in the rear?
Or is it coming in the front or side and dripping at the rear.
Look at the seal for a worn area.

Almost always, the problem can be cured with a high quality set of weatherstrip.  DaveM is right about shims in the center, and the outer front can be adjusted with the rubber-headed screw.

Rear outer corners can be brought down a little by adjusting the receiver on the halo panel.  Go slow; loosen the receiver but do not remove it.   There is a reinforcment plate behind it which will drop to the inside of the underbody if you remove the screws completey.

Remember:  the glass tops sit high at the halo panel by design.  Do not try to get them flush.  Correct heighth is listed in the AIM.
