My 80 project car need glass work front and rear. How do ya'll think it would look to put a 68-72 front and rear on my 80? Keep in mind I'm keeping the bubble back glass and I'm shave off the rear bumper.

The front end you could change the doghouse. But, how would do the rear? I think you would have to have a rear clip molded in to get the flip tail.
Thats why I put the 80-82 rear bumper on mine. I was tryin to get the old school look your talking about.

Well I found a whole rear clip used from a 71 vette. Its got taillamps and all. Its just a thought since i got to put rear 1/4s on it anyway
If you are looking for unique, that would do it.
I think it would look great.

I can't offer any advice on HOW to do that work, but I think it's a WAY KEWELL idea!
Chevykunkie93: It's obvious you're having a good time with your cars and on this great sight called C3VR! This is good stuff!!! Have a blast and let us know what you decide on the '80's front and rear.

The glass work is easy. I just like being different. The 77 and 80 are pos's. It'll take way to much money and time to put the back to stock. So why not build something kool. Why mess up a nice car. Plus with the 80 being wrecked it give me chance to go radical.
Jaime,
I would definitely go for it. It would certainly be unique and since you have to do glass work anyway, why not. If you decide to do it, please send us pics of the project.

If you got the know how (I don't, wish I did) go for it.
You never know til you try. I would love to know how it would look...gotta be kool

This type of swap is going to be much more involved than it might appear. Much more involved that gluing on an early dog house. Early and late frames are not the same and changed when the rubber bumpers were introduced. The chrome bumpers and required bracketry by themselves will be expensive. The earlier cars have press molded panels, later cars are SMC.

My advice would be to sell/trade the '80 and buy the 68-72 if you want a chrome bumper car.

I'm not changing the doghouse. Just using the 1/4s and tail panel. I'm not even using the bumpers. I'm smoothing it so it looks like there were never a place for bumpers.
