I am having front suspension work done on the car & it made it easy to spy chalk marks under the RH side fender. No chalk marks found under the LH fender. Do these marks mean anything?

Chalk, or grease pencil? Most likely a grease pencil/lumber marker. Depending on what the numbers, or marks are. it could be anything from the mold number, to the job number of the car.
Any chance of pics?

I have one that can be seen through the paint ... it's on the hood upper left corner... was wondering myself

Ray, I have heard tales of body panels being marked for repairs like that, and then not being cleaned well enough before painting, and the markings would show thru the paint. Not usually on a dark color, tho...I guess it would depend on the color of the marker itself.

They could even be from someone on the assy line or doing prep in the dealership marking the car.  Dealer tech often do this so they can easily tell who prepped the car.
