Hi all, just an update on my dilemma. I finally got the hood open after spending sleepless nights looking at posts and books, just kidding.
I found that 1. There are no holes in the cowling or other on my car because of the design with the hideaway wiper door, 2. That if you remove the driver side air vent (2 screws outside and 1 nut from underneath) that you can use a flashlight to locate the latch and just reach up and pull it and Voila~, She opened, A most joyous moment for me!! I fixed the problem by cutting a peice of tempered mechanics wire, cutting the crimped end of the handle off and drilling a new hole, inserting the new wire and then brazing it together saving myself not only $40 bucks but retaining the original handle. I hope this update helps anyone else with the same or similar problems. Also, I think only the 70-72 has the 1 peice air vents. ~Chuck~ |cheers| |thumb| |saluteflag|
