May be tape the back side if you can get to it then tiger hair the show side?
Back in my auto part days I used to sell Bondo by the case to this body man. He would have me put the gallon cans on the paint shaker. I once watched him mold a whole rear quarter on a 64 mustang. He used cardboard for a backer and slung the bondo on and cheesed it off.
Once done and speckeled painted in the trunk area it was un real.
Of course after one upstate NY winter and after hitting a good pot hole the whole thing feel off!
