question How hard is it to change the large gear on the window? I have seen some kits with looks like the gear is half the size. I think is screws on some kind of way. Any advice?

Frank, I guess you mean the gear on the window regulator.  I have had alot of experiance with them through the years. The gear your talking about can be bolted on/over the worn out gear. I suggest if you are going to replace the gear why not replace the whole regulator and be done with it (expensive but worth it). You will already have the old one out (regulator) so just replace it. It's really up to you but if you replace it with new you will never have to worry about a spring or roller in the regulator ever again. Well at least not ifor a long time anyway. OH watch that spring in the regulator if it lets GO  there goes a finger or something more treasured. Thanks sgm20042007-11-20 12:20:23
