anyone have any experience removing the trim around the windshield. i plan on recaulking under it as there is a small leak in at the top of the windshield and i want to prep the frame to prevent any rusting of the header. i'm a little leary of removing the glass as there is always a chance of it breaking. also what about the chrome corner trim where the top latches to on the header. any tips on its removal. |wavey|

Gary, not sure about your 72, but when I replaced the windshield on my 82 CE, I replaced all of the weatherstripping. On the A pillar, inside of the weatherstrip, there should be screws which hold the weatherstrip to the car. If you take these screws out, the trim and 'stripping will come out as one whole unit. I hope this helps!

I'm working with an 81 and carefully pried the outter trim off,
I did end up busting the windsheild on a non-related act of stupity,|ohwell| be careful seems just the right touch on the windshield will crack it,
My new problem now is what's the lay out for all the screws and trim clips including that piece with the t-top mount hole,
Seems I only got to those screws after I removed the broken glass,
Anyone know where we could find a diagram for the trim screws, clips and related items? |headscratch|
I need to get mine all ready for a new windshield.
cheers, T.
