Anyone been snoopin' around on e-bay, I just started to send some time surfin' there and saw this blurb on a kit to make the doors into wings. Anyone done any looking into this or have any research, good or bad. Not really lookin' at changing anything now but it sure would bring that sense of unquie to the ride. Just killin' time before I go snore....

wings? Do you mean like the doors lift up as a lambo does? If thats the case, there was a thread a few months ago about this lambo door kit. It looked pretty neat if you want to do something really unique to your vette.Tumarr 38467.4404976852
I've read in other website about the conversion. The post stated it was a little hard to get in and out of. That of course is some one's opinion, not necessarly shared by everyone. I personally don't like it much.

Vette(s): 1969 Daytona Yellow Coupe - ZZ4/4 speed, Hurst shifter, Griffin aluminum radiator w/ Dual Spals, March Serpentine Pulley kit, Hookers with STS Racing Baffles, VB&P Suspension bits, 17" AR Hopsters, L-88 Hood
Don't like that conversion even a little bit. There's a C5 with them that cruises around here and it is just plain stupid looking IMO. The doors don't just swing straight up...first they open conventionally a little before going up. Spend the money on engine mods or something more worth while.Daytona69 38467.4785763889
thanks for the feedback, Daytona69, you've never steered me wrong tey. I was more courious than anything, no mods like that for my baby.

No problem, 1Bad. You've already got a great ride...I'd love to have a '70 LT1 Vert. No need to mess with it.
Guys, I saw a "winged vette" at the Atlanta Car show last week... really strange.. The doors have auto locks, when activated the entire door comes out about 6 inches from the car, then you can lift the door upwards and towards the front. Now I'm about 6' and a few pounds heavier than I should be, and had one hell of a time squeezing in and out. I could only think what it would be like in a Georgia rain storm
This kit installed with the bells and whistles ran about $3K... Gotta agree, don't like the way they operate and/or the cost!!

One of my students has the set up on a Mutsubishi. They are quite odd. If you like it fine. I don't car for it. That out and then up seems awkward. He loves it. To each his own.
