i am very frustrated with the wiper door set up. i dont have enough space for the wiper door and vent between the windshield and hood. i guess i am going to have to try to move the hood alignment some but i dont have a lot of space left there either. at this point i am considering using a hood from a 74 or newer so i dont have these issues. what years can i use that will fit. i know that eliminates my wiper door?
thanks rodney

'73-'77 for sure will bolt on. '78-'9 might.
No room for the door between the hood and windershield? That's quite odd....hmmmm...

joel, if i move the hood forward about an 1/8 to 3/16 inch it wiuld probably workout. its just that right now the spacing around the hood is really good. i'll take the wiper door assembly off again tonight and see if there are any other options. i already have spacers on the assembly studs to move it back. yes its very puzzling! correct that its frustrating!

Have ya tried this?

Imma guessing it's the same hood, and wiper door that was on the car to start with, right? Strange that it all fits so tight now...

I'sa got one of them thar things! And yes it has crossed my mind!
It is all the same parts that were on it when I bought it. I didnt take them off as the guy that did the body work and paint did that part. Problem there is like a lot of body and paint guys in this area he's gone missing! I have a call into him. Been trying to get a hold of him since March. He did finally return a call this afternoon but of course my phone was in the truck and I was at my desk. SO I called again and now I wait.
The part that doesnt make sense is that the door doesnt seem to be going down into a complete park position and nothing appears to be holding it up. The hood shouldnt come into play because the wiper assembly bolts on the wall behide the hood. Plus I've already got shims which moves everything back. But yet i need more space at the end of the hood. I'll get it figured out, hopefully just not by using the grinder! I may call Rich and visit his hood to see what I'm missing.
Thanks
Rodney
