Can anyone tell me why my wiper door pops up about an inch when I turn the car off? Check valve maybe? Thanks, Terry

Prolly. There is a spring in the relay valve that keeps the valve in the open position(the "at rest" position). The vacuum is supposed to keep the valve in the closed position with the engine running, but, if there is a vac. leak, or the relay valve is leaking/bad, it can/will allow the vac to go to the open port of the relay valve, opening the wiper door when the engine is off. Try pinching off the vac line(center hose) at the actuator before turning the engine off. If the door stays down then, you'll prolly need either the check valve, or possibly the relay valve.
As an alternative, you could always duct tape a brick to the door to hold it down...

[QUOTE=apasbigal]For a more flush look - use 3"deck screws in the wiper door corners- you can paint them to match the door color

I was thinking somewhere along these lines Big Al. Are you sure 3" would be long enough or should I go with maybe a 4 or 4 1/2"? Or possibly countersinking a 5 1/2" carriage bolt and using some epoxy to fill in the holes?

Enough of this nonsense - why won't anybody post the real answer? The obvious answer is to have the person in the passenger seat drape themselves over the windshield and hold that sucker down. Depending on the passenger, you may get even more waves....
