Hi,
I have a 1972, but I don't see how to remove the wiper blade from the arm. It looks like it should slide out from the pin on the side of the arm, but whatever is holding it is holding it really tight.
Also, I noticed the passenger side arm has a small metal tab to hold down the center of the blade against the windshield. The driver side also has a tab, but it is under the blade. Since the passenger side (even with the worn wipers) wipes cleaner, I'm thinking this is a problem. I bought the car recently, and I'm still learning about it. Is the drive side arm assembly wrong or is correct that the tab is under the arm on the driver's side?

Look closely at the arm where it fits onto the wiper transmission/post.
On the bottom, toward the arm side, there is a small tab. With a small
pocket screwdriver(or similar implement of destruction), push the tab
away from the transmission/post, while pulling straight up on the arm.
The spring tension on the arm make it want to tilt/c ock a little, so
you may need to wiggle it some, but the arm will come off.
That will take the complete arm/blade assy off.
To simply remove the blade holder from the arm, just pull out/away from the arm while pushing on the release tab, right there in the center of the blade holder, where it is attached to the arm. Depending on the brand of blade holders you have, they may or may not have the release tab. If they do not, then the blade holder will just pull right off of the pin there, on the arm.
Not sure what the little tab is on that one, but it may be the bracket to hold the washer fluid tube...can't really make out what it is...

No push tabs on the blade. The arm appears to be in two parts. I have pulled rather hard and still can't get it to release. Something is holding it, I just can see what.

Yup...those are basically spring loaded....they will pull off. Ya might try a small screwdriver in between the arm and the blade holder, and pry them off. They do sometimes put up a fight, but they eventually all come off...
