Still working on my 1969 wipers.  Came across one cut hose, and one vacuum connection that has no hose.

Can you identify?
First picture, driver's side, shows the connection with no hose.
Second shows the cut hose.
Are they related?

NO. Not related . The "cut hose" is actually a open vent line to a wiper door selector valve located under the cowling and is depressed by the riderside wiper control arm . The first picture is by the windhhield spray system But I don't know what it should be sonnected to BigAl

Joel put up this diagram in another thread that should help.  To help with chasing down function I would recommend putting a plug in the open hose and a cap over the open port to seal up the system.

I agree with Al on the second pic..it is a vent line...it needs to be left open.
The first pic is unusual....it appears to be a solenoid attached to the wiper motor, but it could be a wiper washer motor someone put on. Where does the line that is on it(with the red stripe) go? Have you traced it to the other end?

Headlight washer maybe?  I don't recognize that fitting.

Thanks All.  I wracked up my back again so I have to wait a couple days.  I don't twist so well under the dash anyway.  That diagram is great!
I'll let you all know how I do.

Jim

By golly I think yer right! I dint think of that. The headlight washers do operate when the windshield washers are activated. Assuming the car has the headlight washer option, that's prolly it. Thumbs Up
