Well, one of those tiny successes today.  Kind of like when you're out golfing, which I haven't done in yrs, and after 9 holes you've lost 4 balls, out of mulligans and your score reflects that your quadruple bogie on the good holes, you hit that one 275 yard, staright as an arrow drive on the 282 yard 10th.  It just makes you coming back for more!

If it were me, I'd celebrate that accomplishment with a beer (or more) and relish in that victory for a few days before I attempted anything else :)

As it turns out, I will be waiting a few more days because the other spring is wrong.  It won't engage the "D" slot because it hits the fender first.  Seems like it was misbent.  I had compared the two when I was trying to install the driver side and it wouldn't fit properly.  There was a difference.

I'm celebrating too, I got may car back from the carb guy and it runs great!  No more part throttle hesitation!!

Yay for small (big?) victories!

Go-Daddy's new convertible had no working lights on the rear end: none, zip, nada.  No back up lights, side markers, tails, brakes, license plate light.  And the gas gauge was screwy.  Didn't think they were related.

Yesterday, we tore into the harness to try to figure it out.  12 volts present at the GROUND wire that was common to all the lights in the rear.  No blown fuses...  I was ready to tear into the harness as I was convinced Bubba had somehow spliced into the harness and screwed up.

Long story short (too late?).  Isolating one bulb fixture at a time, we found the license plate light bulb put in such that the positive lead was pushed over and contacting the bulb ground housing.  So after two hours and removing the whole harness: success!

How it wasn't blowing fuses I can't figure.  But, fixing the ground fixed the gas gauge too!
