Hello all! I've always wanted to customize a vehicle.  I want it to be tasteful and I just had an idea for the taillights of my vette.  I am about to receive an 80-82 fiberglass bumper cover and just thought about doing something a little different.

When I thought about taillights that "stood out" to me, the '69 Charger popped into my head for some reason (I know, not Chevy...) Anyway, I thought I'd try to combine two pictures to see what it might look like.  I wish I knew how to do this on photoshop...The dimensions/rotation/centering may be off a little but I wanted to know what you think? Yeah? Neah?  Thanks for your opinion!

I like custom stuff but not so much the Charger look here.

Any other options?

Vette(s): White '79 Corvette. It's a driver.
OK. You asked, so here goze...
I think that look takes away from the beauty your Corvette naturally has.
People seem to know a Corvette at first glance. That look might confuse some.
Thats my opinion.

Take a look at the mid 60s Buick Riviers and duce and a quarter tail lights. They are similar to those Chargers, but thinner looking - and GM.

Go for it! Thumbs%20Up

Go with '66-'67 Charger lights, and then you'll have sequential turn sigs!
(don't know if the '69s are sequential or not...)

Yeah...that kinda looks like a Fireturd...
You'd have to use a fiberglass cover, tho, in order to do any major mods. Since ya gotta do that, why not just do the old standard, and install three regular(or bubble) Corvette lights per side, like we used to do way back when?

After some thought, if feel that it should only be fitting that I keep it all GM (or maybe even all Corvette).  My second thought was maybe putting some '63-'66 Vette taillights with the chrome bezels shown here in upside down (as shown) so it has similar contours with the bumper cover.

I think that they may be a bit small and could look lost thought.  I like the Buick lights idea.  Maybe I'll keep searching around.  If anyone has any ideas of what would look cool/different, feel free to chime in!  I just like the thought of doing something unique that would complement the 'Vette (sort of like what the cowl induction hood does to a '67-'68 Camaro even though it wasn't offered as an option then. They do make an aftermarket rear cover with square tailight holes, for use with the later, C4 lights...a-la ZR1...
