82 aluminum wheels in great shape but they have some water marks or chemical etching from hard water or wheel cleaner that won't come off with a Mothers Power Ball and metal polish. These wheels are clear coated from factory so anyone know what will take it off?

I didn't think the 80-82 wheels were clearcoated... if the marks are old and indeed etched then they may be very difficult to remove. Speedy Metal Polish and a Powerball Mini did wonders for my rims.
You might want to try Diamond Brite Truck Box Polish. I use it on my 79 wheels. Think it does a better job than Mothers. You can find it at Lowes in the ailse where they sell aluminum truck boxes. If that doesn't work, you may have to polish your wheels. not a lot of fun. All hard work and elbow grease.

My 82 wheels are not clear coated either. There have been previous posts regarding wheel polishing and what other members have used. The powerball and mothers works for me but I remember other members using more aggressive means. Michael, you may want to use the search feature to look for old posts on this subject, there have been some within the last 6 months or so.
