Shucks that was fun going back through the thread and reviewing some of the folks who posted that aren't on much anymore.
Some of them don't own vettes anymore but checked back in to C3VR when the thread popped back into their email.
I still use the Dusters from 3 years ago now. Like the EverReady Bunny they are still goin strong.....

same here... names I have never heard of. But I learned a lot, so it is worth it to keep this thread alive. Got my Duster at Costco...

This IS an oldie but a gudie!!

I've still got the same duster, and it still werks great....it's almost black now! At least it no longer leaves any funky stuff on the surface like they do when new. I also go over the car afterwards with Meguier's Spray Detailer...shure beats WASHIN the car!!

btw....it's also nice to know the newer members are taking advantage of the archives! We should ALL do that every now and them...it is FUN to go back and look at some of the older threads...

Now I know what to ask for from the wife & kids for a stocking stuffer.

You better have a purdy large foot for that stocking!!! The dusters are fairly large!!

I use one for my car, I also have the small one for the interior and that works great.
OK here is my 2 cents. I bought my first California Duster about 3 years ago when I had my truck. When you get it the instruction are to leave it out on some newspaper for about 24 hours to let it air out and kinda cure to cut down on possible streaks from the wax. It is very true that the more you use it the better it works, don't wash it. I gave that first one away with my truck and the first thing I bought when I got my Vette was a new California Duster. The only problem I have ever had is a little streaking on my Black paint after using it when the car has been out in the hot sun for awhile at a cruise-in. Those of you that don't have one can get the best price on one at Wal-Mart or Target. If you pay more than $19.95 you are paying too much.

So is there only one kind of California Duster?
I mean if wal mart sells them those were made in china.
Are there better ones? Or only one?

Ive got one that I use regularly and it saves me a lot of washing. With a black car, it doesnt sit long at all until dust starts to show. Im sure there are imitations out there and they will probably work OK as well but mine says "Original California car duster" on it. If something happened to this one, Id be buying another one the same day. Got mine at Pep Boys
