Vette(s): 1968 Corvette Coupe - 327(350) 4 speed
I am searching for a car cover for my '68, and am a little overwhelmed with the large number of different covers on the market. My car will by stored indoors all of the time. I want to protect from dust, bird droppings (possible birds in barn), possible moisture (if roof leaks), brushing against the car, light impacts, etc.
I am getting it ready for winter hibernation.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Does anyone current have a cover they like/love/use/hate?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Try California Car Cover Company - http://www.calcarcover.com. They have a great selection of covers for all any storage situation. They have a one called Plushweave that is perfect for indoor storage. It's a cotton cover with a flannel underside...I've got one and couldn't be happier with it.

What amazes me is how much these car covers cost. Everyone wants big bucks for them, but like anything else, you get what you pay for.

I just recently got mine from BuyAutomotive (http://www.buyautomotive.com)

It was about $119 and it's a Wolf Evolution-4. I park inside all the time too, but wanted something that would protect against everything including door-nicks.

Very happy with it.

Vette(s): 1976 Brown with Buckskin Interior. I bought her on 9/15/03 and just received it on OCT 1st 2003!! It needs interior work, and some things under the hood, but I am so excited! Just waiting for Summer of 2004 to totally show it off.
I ordered mine from ECKLERS. I got the NOAH car cover. My corvette sits outside |cussing| since my husband's MUSTANG |frown| is in the garage.

How much were your covers-Laguna & Suzanne? Do they have mirror pockets? My Vette is 99% under cover,my Cutlass sits outside all the time.I'm considering one of those "portable" carports-you know the ones with no sides made out of aluminum I think.I guess some have canvass tarps for roofs and/or sides.Kinda expensive-but close to a car cover price, too |eek|

Mine was $170.00 and you can specify one or two mirror pockets. It also comes with plastic grommets that you can install for the antenna if you need it. I've had a few covers from them and have all been top quality.

Anybody think the custom fit covers are worth the extra money,or is the "universal" fit fine?

Custom is worth it to me. I'd rather pay a little more for a cover that fits my car exactly. |toungecool|

|thumb| Totally agree on that - custom is the way to go. My car is parked in a garage with many other cars with covers. All the cars that have the universal covers tend to show a lot of "body" or they just aren't staying on which kind of defeats the purpose.

I would definitely get the fitted cover.
