CAN THE DECALES ON A PACE CAR BE WAXED OVER FOR PROTECTION?

sure, I don't see why not. They only issue would be the white residue around the edges, if you use "wax". If you use something like Zaino, then you waon't have this problem

No problem, have you used Zaino before Bill? Sal says it is Ok to put on decals. People had questions about putting it on Collectors Editions, and he said it was alright

Vette(s): 1978 INDY PACE CAR #3016 of #6502 built. Has original Pace car decals still in GM boxes the way it was delivered to GM dealers. per NCRS "UPDATE" Decals applied as of 3/8/02 (ALL ORIGINAL)
Bill,

Let me throw in my two cents. I would like to start off by welcoming you to the C3VR , there are alot of guys and girls that will give you alot of great information. Chris is right about the decals. I have used Mequiars mirror glaze and also the zaino product on my vette, and have had good results from both of them. As he said, the only problem is removing the build up from around the edge of the decals if you go the wax route.

I treat the decals just like the rest of the car they see just as much weathering and aging as the rest of the finish, and need to be preserved. |thumb|
