I'm getting to tired and old for the paste wax. I know not to wax in the sun. Always waxed inside. What do you prefer? I know there are a lot of brands out there but my main ? is ease of removing and does liquid last as long as paste? I've used paste for years because my dad said it was the best for durabilaty. Now that was 30 soe yrs ago so I'm sure there is something better out there. I've got to the point of just waxing the top of the Vette. PLEASE tell me there is a good long lasting easy off liquid, Thanks

I believe the technology has progressed to the point where a liquid wax is equal or better than a traditional paste wax. Most paste waxes today are more of a cream than a true hard paste anyway, so there isn't much difference between them.
I'm not convinced though, that some of the high tech synthetic waxes are better, or even as good as traditional carnauba based natural waxes. Silicones tend to leave cloudy finishes, except maybe for some of the very expensive ones.
I know many guys like Zaino and Mequiar's (I used to be a Mequiar's user), but the best wax I've used is Griot's Best of Show Wax. Not that others aren't excellent as well...it's just that Griot's is the best I've tried. Maybe one day I'll find something I like better, but for now, Griot's is my choice.
All that being said, I think the most important part is not simply the type of wax you use, but how well you prepare the surface before applying the wax.Gunslinger 2007-08-20 09:52:50

I was a Mequiar's user for years but after hearing so much about
Zaino's i wanted to try it. I did the whole process and was sold, hook
line and sinker. It's a long procedure starting with the clay bar but
once done it was well worth it and after that the maintenance is easy.
Mostly wash and there #6 spray ultra clean gloss enhancer. Even on
my 69 i was amazed at the finish.
Thanks guys. I'm convinced. It's going to be some type of liquid. I'd like to try Zaino's but you have to send away for it. I'm going to look at the turtle wax,

What you might try is go to a store like Big Lots or Ollie's Bargain Outlet. They buy out overstocks from manufacturers and distributors or from stores being closed and resell it at much lower retail prices.
I suggested this to a friend a few months ago and he found some bargains on car wax...all national brands like Turtle Wax, Simoniz and others for much, much less than even Wal Mart.
I've found items like STP there for .99 a container, gallon jugs of Turtle Wax car wash for $1.99, etc. Sometimes the container is in another language, but it's still the same product.
Just this morning I was in Ollies and I saw they had Craftsman circular saws with a laser line projector for $39.99...I didn't need it but it is a great price. I went in to pick up some "D" cell batteries...they sell them for $1.99 a pair for alkaline.
You never know what you might find in those places. I rend to check there first for many items before going elsewhere.

Why not just order Zaino online? I can find out if you have a distributor in your area.
Quality synthetic sealants should not have silicone in them. I have never used one that left a "cloudy" finish, and if I did, I would never use it again.
If you'd rather go to the store and buy a product, try Meguairs NXT. Great look and easy on/off, but durability is not as good as some others.
Yeah I'm looking for durability, something that last longer. I read the turtle wax bottle and it said something about having a carbanuna and some kind of gloss type of stuff. I did the back, halo bar and my hood fade.It was easy to take off!!!! and a nice shine!!!
I doubt Turtle Wax will have better durability than Meguiar's. Anything with carnauba is a wax or product blended with wax, which is not known for being durable. However, I haven't used it so I can't knock it.
