On the 72 I want to put the heater controlls back in the console. I dont remember how the heat cable connects to the control mechanism. Does it fasten onto the metal bracket that has the vent controls on it or to the actual control mechanism. Also how does the loop at the end of the cable fasten to the mechanism. I've no problem with the vacuum hoses or fan switch just the cable. Thanks for any help you can give me. I may be able to find this info in the AIM but havent looked yet.
Thanks
Rodney

I had mine apart a couple of weeks ago to replace the thumb wheels and lens...let me see if I can remember. The heater cable attaches to a slider mechanism by slipping the end of the cable over a pin on the slider and securring it with a push nut. The cable also attaches to the controls with a plastic clamp held in place with a screw on the side of the control assembly. I wish I'd taken some pictures for you.
