hey not fair, you arn't supposed to find that leak in the hose until after you replace the radiator and AC compressure and water pump

Lifetime MemberGarry, I did find the leak after replacing the A/C compressor and having my radiator re-cored 
But it was all for the better in the end...my temp gauge rarely goes above 200 degrees now, and I figure that the new compressor will probably save me some grief down the road.

A mechanical shutoff valve on the line to the heater core will eliminate the potential of the vacuum actuated valve from either not functioning (vaccuum problem) or not shutting off tightly.
