I am in the process of replacing ac parts. My line from my accumulator was and has been broken since I bought the car. So since I am replacing radiator I figuered I would replace condenser, and the accumulater. one manual stated I needed to add refrigernant oil to both of these parts before reinstall. Does anyone have any idea of where I can get the oil and if in fact it needs to be added. I cant seem to find clear info on this. Also what type of oil do I use?Thanks

My 2 cents.  I have had C-3's since they came out and their a/c system is and always will be poor at best.  You can spend and spend and it still will not be as good as a new one.

I will do my best for pictures this weekend.  Basically, everything is inside and under the dash.  They give you a precut piece of black plastic to cover the hole where the old unit was.  If you have a post 78 model, you give up your glove compartment.  As indicated in my earlier post, the hardest part of the install is getting the engine compartment a/c components out with the engine in.  That part will not come out without cutting parts of the ears away.  Easy if the engine is out.  I just looked at their website hotrodair.com and it seems as if the price has gone down to $900 for the 3 vent unit, which I have.  For a few extra bucks, they will wire a switch to fit into your dash.  For post 78, you will have one knob, which you can hide to control the temperature.  The unit is a bit louder than the original but what C3 is quiet.  I took my 73 out yesterday, temperature was in the mid 90's, the car is rarely driven and it cooled rapidly.  Take you time, follow the instructions and it can be done in a day.  I will provide telephone assistance also.  Picture soon; we are pouring concrete on our driveway.

It has its own fan.  It is a complete unit.  The only thing you can use from your car is the switch plate but only if you want to.

yeah I got to lookin for it yesterday. I have seen it at summit for 1195 then at hotrodair.com for 900 base unit. I think this is the way I will go. Looks like this winters project. Would like to see pics. It looks like the kit comes with condenser and evaperater and misc hoses. Thanks for info.
