Vette(s): Just finished 2 years of Blood, Sweat, & Tears restoring my 69 Coupe. Crimsom Red, 427, vacuum removed, Shot of Steeroids, Killer Lights, 5 Speed, still working on small things but she is back on the road.
You made the right decision. I've worked with Tom on a couple of projects. He is helpful and if there is an issue he makes it right.

OK!

Now I can talk about the results: I changed the rad dor a Dewitt "direct fir" A69M with the 333 option (black epoxy paint to make it lood like original) and a Stewart "High Flow" aluminum water pump (# 21204).

1) Result is good. The car does not overheat anymore, even in heavy traffic (in July, in SW Florida), as long as I don't turn the A/C on. With A/C it is OK for a while (I am happy camper since I could'nt even use the A/C until then) but I have to turn it off after a (long) while in traffic by 95F outside temp. When I turn it off, the temp cools down reasonnably fast.
At the end of the day, I used to drive at 235F best case with no A/C; I now drive at 215F and cools down back to 215 much faster if I go a little over.
2) I don't know which part (the rad or the pump) I should thank most since I changed both I the same time.
3) The "direct fit" is not that "direct". The upper connector does not show the same angle than original, resulting in the need to play with and modify the hose route. Something to improve.
4) From what I gathered some engines run hotter than others no matter what.

Christian,
I installed a Dewitt in my 74/454 with AC. I also went for an Edelbrock Vector WP. What a difference, I couldn't use my AC w/o overheating, Now I don't go over 200 degree's with the AC on !
You made a good choice. Enjoy !! |biggrin|
