help,,I have installed heddman headers on my 69 small block, I ordered and received a set of chambered exhaust from Eklers today, I have turned and twisted these blame things everwhichaway, and cant seem to invision them lining up under the car. does anyone have a schematic as to how these things fit together, Granted there are only 3 pieces for each side but how do they route under the car? Do I have to have a pipe fabricated to attach the collectors to the new chambered pipes,,Looks like they would send you something to show how they install. All help will be appreciated,,Thanks RD

  Best bet is take it to a muffler shop. It is much easier with the car over a pit or up in the air rather than laying on the garage floor. You will more than likely have to have the reducers adapted to the system as well. i also found with my Chambered kit (from Mid America) that the pipes from the diff on back did not line up correctly and had to be modified. A muffler shop is money well spent IMHO.

 My exhaust fit perfect from Mid America, but I don't have headers yet. Yes with headers it's best to go to a muffler shop.

Once you get it completed, I'll be interested in knowing how you like the sound.

And I'd also be interested in knowing if you still like the sound six months later.

 Did you order an exhaust system made for headers? the original exhaust manifold ends half way down the engine block, The hedman headers collectors end under the footwell. Probably around a foot or more difference in length between systems. huk_finn2006-11-10 09:40:30
