What would you say is a good temp to run it at... my 160 runs about 170 with A/C at 80 ambient, and my 195 stat was running 205 with same ambient and A/C. Seems to go up about 10 deg with A/C. I have a stock 454 with 4 spd.
Do you think the 160 is too low.
Maybe switch to 195 in the winter?

160 is okay, but about as low as you would want to go. Below that and the fuel gets "quenched" and does not always light well or burn completely. It can be adjusted richer to compensate, but then your fuel mileage drops and emissions climb.
Below 200 is nice. You can go up to 230 without problems, but over that can be nasty. You would rather see it not go over 220, and best if lower than that. 170 to 200 is a great range. Computer control cars need at least 180, and should be 190.

Sure don't want to lose gas mileage... can't get past a station now .. but I love it anyway.
I will put in a 180 and I think it will run under 200 with A/C...
Thanks for the info... again...

I have a 71-454 with air. I don't use the air much (top is always down) but never had a problem with overheating, even driving in a parade I had no problems. Just had my radiator flushed and it runs a little cooler now.

I had my car out today, going to head to another dyno check for the article. I got to the gas station and my radiator tank split on the outer side. Dumped everything in a hurry.
Went home, pulled it out, cleaned the tank, soldered the crack, reinstalled, and back on the road. It's holding well. Took less than 2 hours for everything.
I'll try for the dyno tomorrow morning. I need to take my better half to the doctors this afternoon.
