Back in late June while waiting my turn to get my ears lowered at the local barbershop I was browsing through the July, 2002 issue of Car and Driver which was highlighting the Vette's 50th birthday. I didn't get to read a lot of it before getting my turn in the chair so I asked Cal if he'd save the issue for me when the new one arrived. Picked it up today and have started going cover to cover through it.
Patrick Bedard's column on page 24 was of interest because I've seen a lot of postings related to cooling problems/opinions/solutions/etc. so I thought I'd recommend it for a read to anyone who's experienced the "demons" of trying to keep things cooler under the hood. If you don't have a copy of that issue, or can't get to the library (or local barbershop/salon/doctor's office) to find it, here's a link to it on C&D's website - July/2002 Car&Driver - Patrick Bedard

Jim,
Nice reading for those of us with ever-present heat issues. Being somewhat ignorant about the difference between coolant & antifreeze, I found this article particularly helpful. The recommendation to thin out the mix with a higher concentrate of water is where I'll begin. Anyone mix water into their coolant more than 50% during the summer? I tried to contact Zerex about the "Racing Super Coolant" referenced in the article but they don't have much interest in individual retail sales. Adam - think the C3VR could contact them as a distibutor & buy a case to offer up to members? Just a thought. Even if I had to have a "summer" formula from April to October and a "winter" mix from November to March it seems worth a try based on what I've read. Anyone else do this?? FYI, I found another link about this:
