Well I am trying to get my ac working. .. i took off the hood and removed the ac accumulator and below it is all rusted out...
Question .. do I fix it or just ignore it and paint rust paint on it ???

If your core support is rusted thru, it really should be replaced.
If it is minor surface rust, then it can be cleaned and painted with POR or a similar rust preventative.
The core support helps hold the front bodywork in alignment, so it needs to be fairly solid. A lot of supports do rust on the bottoms, because they tend to collect water down there.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking.. wanted to here it from someone else before I went through all that work...

I cheated. Mine is rusted, but a trip to Lowes and some new metal went in place to reinforce the area and support the radiator. However this is not a permanent repair. It will however do for now. Yes, I recommend replacement.
Yea, I found a guy parting out a 78 on ebay. got one NO rust for 200..
now the operation begins.....
