Hey guys,

My dad and I took out, and replaced the heater core today, omfg, what a job that was..... taking out 80% of the dash. Anyway, while we were taking it apart, we noticed that some wires had been 'cut' not sure if it was a factory error, or not? Or mabey it wa supposed to be like that? Here are the pics:

The wires in the red circles are what I am inquiring about (sorry... the camera is a crappy kodak) But then furhter looking we foudn that the plug that goes into the plenum (heater box) has an extra hole for a 3rd wire, could this be fore the cut wire?
Here is that pic:

If you want to see the other pictures of the hectic day:

Thanks guys,

Those aren't wires ,they are vacuum lines, probably for the heater control

Don't know why they were cut,it looks like a BUBBA thing.either find out where they go and reconnect them,or cap them off, they will create quite a vacuum leak

A vaccumm diagram is called for! I don't know if Dr. Rebuild has them for the heat/ac system, but it might be worth a look-see. The fact. service manual is good, too, as well as the assembly manual.
I have repaired broken plastic vac. lines like these with short peices of rubber line, as well as heat-shrink tubbing(?). But....you have to know where it goes in the end!

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!

If you look closely, you can see a color code on each one.  You can get small vacuum line to slip over the plastic tube, and connect the color codes together.  This will repair the damage.

The vacuum lines are what operates the blend and temp doors in the heating and A/C.  They come from the heater control in the center console, and use vacuum from the engine intake manifold.
