bought my 75 vette in aug. and still finding new adventures on itSmile. i went to drain radiator as i want to put a chrome water pump on. figured i would just have to take fan off. it appears that i had to take shroud off as well and found out that it was cracked in half and just the outer ring was holding together. shocked to find new ones going for 400.00. decided to go electric set up and checked various places (mid america, dewitt, etc.) decided to order from mid america and complete set up was 423.00 including shipping. got it today and it was funny as it came from dewitt. even funnier was that dewitt was charging the 423.00 before shipping. go figure.

Don't cha just HATE it when that happens?
I've found a lot of times, that parts you buy from one place, actually come from another supplier to start with. That's why I usually just get it from the supplier. That way, if there is a problem with it, you don't have a "middleman" to deal with.
Hope it works well for ya, and it helps keep your engine kewl!

I think you are going to be very happy.  The purists won't care for it; however, what a difference the electric fan set up and DeWitt radiator has made for "Double T."  Easier to get around under the hood, you can actually see in there now.  The car runs so much cooler than it had before.

Also did you get the Spal Fan set up?  Those folks were great!  The directions were confusing due to the umteen packages they have and which one you have, but it is very easy to set up and program once you get it in.  I called them before I cut a couple of the wires loose, because they tell you in the manual that you WILL NOT use all the supplied wires.

good luck, Gurtz

joel it just makes me laugh that mid america sells it cheaper than dewitt but from what i have read in posts on here i don't think there will be any problems with the sellers or the unit.

gurtz yes i got the spal dual fan setup. i did ehaustive research (spent a couple hours reading the posts here about fansRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing) and as i hope to do the job once got the best out there. must have made an easier set of directions as mine is only on a piece of paper. pretty straight forward. gues they saw my name and figured they better make it as easy as possible for meRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing. btw..engine looks great in your car. are you going to install the braided stainless over the hoses?

Once the Spall tech serice guy told me which system I had via part number, it was a piece of cake.  The folks at DeWitt sent over the 195 sheet plus the Spal Manual.  It was a tad bit confusing at first with 4 potential spal set ups and all the wires.  You will be cutting some wires out all total, I suspect, I had to.

Thanks for the kind words about the motor.  I am still up in the air about the stainless hoses.
