I have been looking at my radiator expansion tank for my 1972 454. There is nothing wrong with it, but it does not seem to match up with all the expansion tanks being sold in Ecklers, Mid America and other corvette vendors. The ones I have seen in the convette vendor catalogs are all aluminum and are rounded on the end with the radiator cap sitting on top of the tank. Mine is a black painted brass tank, mostly flat on the end with a goose neck coming out of the end that the radiator cap sits on. My tank is about 14" long and almost 4" in diameter The tag on the tank reads like this: Harrison, Lockport N.Y., 72D, and with the number at the bottom of the plate reading 3019249. The tank appears to be original equipment with the car, but now I am not sure. If anybody could help with this, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks, Jimmie

It sounds like the same type of tank I have on my 1972 454 (with A/C and 4-speed).
