Getting ready to flush my 350 and install all new hoses plus thermostat.
My 350 has a mild performance build and runs slightly hot (230-40) on days with ambient temp. of 90-95 Fahrenheit but I haven't addressed poor hood sealing (yet).
My question to the forum is what thermostat do I use, 160 180 190 ?
I do plan on driving the Vette a few times on nice winter days but mostly in spring/summer/fall.

I'd suggest stayin around the 180...the 160 might be ok, but if the engine runs too cool(yeah...like that's gonna happen!), it can create problems with condensation forming on the interior of the block, and the efficiency of the engine will be lower, also.
Actually, running a 160 deg. thermo on our cars really won't do any good, as the temp is always going to be more than that anyway...the only difference is it will open a little sooner than the 180. If you have colder weather year round, the 180 is probably a better choice.

If you are going to flush the whole system, make sure to pull the two plugs on either side of the block to get every thing. You may have to use a screwdriver to break the scale once you remove the plugs though. I did.
Zgator Do yourself a favor and address the radiator to hood and side baffels. I was running about 230-240 with my big block. I found some a/c coolant line wrap. The thick black foam and sliced it to fit in all the area around the radiator(top and sides)or buy a set from Ecklers or whoever. That makes a big difference. Also I put in royal purple ICE (great stuff) and installed electric fans. If you have motor driven fans be sure you have the fan ductwork on.I rarely get over 205 now with the norm (driving) at 190-195.

I have done the complete flush and found my radiater was installed new in 2005. New hoses all-around and i'm now running 210 ambient temp. at around 90 degrees.
Next on my list is radiater sealing rubber; should bring it down another 10-20 degrees.
