Hello I am currently replacing my 350 with a 383 and I was wondering if replacing my old 3 core radiator with a 4 core will make up for the added heat? Or will a aluminum radiator be nessary? Also I am considering dual electric fans in place of the old clutch fan and shroud. Thanks Guys for your input. also My engine is estimated to be 425 hp and 440 torque.

You would probably be OK with a Big-Block radiator, but while you are replacing it I'd step up to aluminum. DeWitts is a good place to get them. Whichever way you go, be sure to use a new seal kit and make sure the shroud seals well. Also make sure the front spoiler is there are in good condition. Check your fan clutch too. The vmore power you put out, the more critical it is to seal it up well so all the cool air goes through the radiator.
This may seem like a stupid question but perhaps someone could clarify something for me. There seems to be alot of you going to 383 reworks. What is a 383? I know it starts out as a 350 but is it 30 over? What is the relationship of c.i. to thous over?
Thanks for you expertise.

383 stroker means you take a 350 block and bore it out .030 inch then you use 5.7 inch rods with a chevy 400 crank or an aftermarket crank with a 3.75 inch stroke. You will need special pistons and the block will need to be clearenced by the lower skirt where the oil pan bolts up. What this does is it slightly improves horsepower but greatly enhances your torque range. excellent for street use.
