I found that the vent door on the pass. side was stuck. I freed it up and lubricated it and now it works fine. Before I would only get outside air so the hotter it was the worse my A/C worked. Now I get recirculated air and the temp. stays much cooler now. Going to need all the cooling power I can get for the ride out to the desert in 2 weeks.

good to hear that. personnally i really can't understand why you would
want to cool the outside air rather than recirculate the already cool
air. it's great you found the problem. knew one guy thought his a/c
needed to be charged and found out he had it on the wrong setting.

It sounds as if the door is not closing completly when your a/c is on and therefore you are still getting some heat mixed with your a/c. If so (and for the trip) go in and disconnect the door and put a spring on it to keep it closed, it might be cooler. Have a good and safe trip. Gene

That was the problem, it's working fine now.

Hey Dave, just take those tops off and you'll be all set.
I guess I better check my AC soon.

I always leave the tops on when traveling so I can lock it up when making pit stops. I'd rather be in the A/C when driving all day. Once we are out there the tops will come off, unless it's too hot & sunny!

I just replaced the compressor and charged the system, when sitting at a light it has cold air but as soon as I start moving the air gets warmer and warmer.I saw you guys talk about a vent door that is supposed to close for recirculated air only.Where is this door and how do I get at it?Thanks
