Vette(s): 1969 C3 Coupe. Was an L-46 now a ZZ3 w/M-21 4-speed, manual steering and brakes, 3.70 Posi. Red with Balck interior, non-numbers matching.
I am in the process of replacing all of the vacuum/washer lines for my 69' coupe (headlights, wiper door, headlamp/windshield washers) and have a question:
I can't find any documentation that shows where the vacuum line for the heater control connects (no A/C car). The configuration I have now looks like it was cobbled together by a previous owner- The heater vacuum line is actually connected to the yellow vacuum line for the headlights via a crude barbed fitting just inserted into the side of the yellow hose. This doesn't seem right- Does the heater control connect directly to manifold vacuum? Does it connect with a 'T' fitting somewhere else in another line? Does it need any kind of check valve?
Any advice or pictures would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Elm

Elm, I don't have diagrams for '69, but I'm sure someone here does.
I would reccommend you get a factory service manual for your car. They are indispensable when trying to figure out stuff like this!! Especially if Gomer & Goober have messed it up before!

Joel,
My dilemma is that I have the factory shop manual, assembly manual and GM parts manual- None of which show how/where the heater control gets it's vacuum.
The only thing it shows is the hose going thru the firewall and says "to vacuum source". Not quite the detail I was hoping to find ;-)
