Can anyone tell me if this actually works and where this wire might be.  I have a 1980.  There is a 5 pin plug that plugs into the bottom of what I think is the blower relay.  I removed all of the wires, one at a time and none of them shuts off the low speed blower although they do shut all of the blower speeds off.  Also, on my 80 there is 4 positions on the blower switch.  The top position, "high" shuts the blower off completely.  Is it supposed to.  It would be a 4 speed blower if that position worked.  Otherwise it has 3 speeds.   Thanks!

The low speed blower is always running bringing hot air into the cabin. You can shut it off and still have the mediun and high speeds. Under the hood on the right side of the firewall is the heater/AC box. In the top of the box is an electrical connector with 5 wires in it. Take a small screw driver and probe the slot with the dark brown wire in it, this will release that wire and shut off the low speed blower. Tape the wire back out of the way. thumb Chuck

I think what "Chuck" is describing is the blower resistor, not the relay. You can disable the low speed blower by removing the wire from the resistor, but the relay only controls the high speed on the blower. If your blower is not working on "high", the relay is bad, or has no power to it.(bad fuse, switch, etc.)
The resistor is toward the top of the "heat/a-c box", and the connector plugs into it from the top down, and the relay is a metal "box" that is fastened on the heat/a-c box, usually on the side, with the con. coming in from underneath.
The low speed blower is always on with the key on, for 'ventilation' purposes, but should not be on with the thumb-wheel set to "off".
