I had the same problem. I wanted to replace all the hoses when I flushed the radiator. I couldn't find one with a spring in it. I even ordered one from Ecklers and asked the specific question "does it come with a spring?". They said yes, hose arrived with no spring. I sent the hose back and kept the original one. I've been told you can remove the spring from your old hose but I haven't tried it.

What's the idea of the spring anyway? I can only assume it's supposed to stop the hose collapsing? I had a burst lower radiator hose over a year ago, and rather than wait for a replacement (I live in the UK, and hadn't sorted out any decent suppliers at that point), I ended up splicing two "suitable" hoses together with a short piece of copper pipe and two jubilee clips..... Never had any trouble with that fix. (OK, I know it's a bit of a bodge, but it worked
) My point being that I've been ok with no spring so far....
I don't like the idea of having a rusty spring hanging around the bottom of my radiator - or are they galvanised or something?
Anyone want to enlighten me?
