All right I wanted to say somebody.Too much pain medication.I looked through my 82 shop manual and I couldn't really tell from the diagram where the resistor goes.Is it by the fire wall on pass. side? or more teords the front of the motor on the pass side? One more thing is it plug and play or do I need to sodder(sp) something. The diagram shows that it is inline between the blower motor and the blower relay but it dont look right when I'm looking under the hood. The resistor assembly looks like a ball thing.Hold on,I'm going outside and take another look see.No I still can't tellzgator38568.2874421296

Vette(s): 1982 Black over red, doing a resto.

It's between the blower relay and the heater control valve. It has a plastic wire connector shaped like a "T" with four wires coming out of it. Looking down on it, kinda looks like a little football with a screw on each end. Yes, it's on the right side.

Good luck,

Denny

OK...........back to basics..............Have you checked the fuse?

I'm assuming the fan works on "High". since you didn't say it didn't.
It may be the blower switch, too. Sometimes I have to wiggle mine to get it to make contact on the lower speeds. (I've got a new switch, just too lazy to put it in)
If the blower works on High, then we know the switch is getting power. The switch sends 12v to the high blower relay, because the blower amps on "high" are too much for the switch to handle by itself.
The switch sends 12v to the resistor on the lower speeds, and the resistor controls the fan speed, depending on which individual resistor is fed from the switch. Adams' Apple38579.8218981481

I think you are right Adam.I went to the local Vette shop this morning and he did a check of the system and concluded based on what I told him and what I've done that the switch could very possiably be the problem. Thanks for all the help.
