I'm going to not be using my heater and was wondering which would be better. Should I route the heater hose from the water pump outlet up to the intake manifold heater hose inlet or just put plugs on the heater hose connections instead? Is this a 50/50 deal that would not really make a difference or is there a solid reason to go one way or the other?

I had mine both ways....didn't matter except for looks. Plugging holes looks much better than a loop of hose.....jmho.

Running the loop helps with circulation, but...plugging the nipples doesn't do any damage. It's more of a personal, esthetics decision. Either way is acceptable, with no real downsides.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
No There is no difference in my 82 before or after I basically plugged the system. I put valve is both lines to keep water out of the heater core. Even in So Cal I did not want to not have the option of having a heater.
Napa has the correct valves (they are two different sizes). I believe I still have the part numbers somewhere if someone is interested.

yes, if you know the numbers , that would help out alot.
For some reason my heat stays on and you can feel it on your feet.
My wife is not liking driving around in 90 degree heat with the heater on !!!!
So thus I want to bypass it.
