Vette(s): 1972 Corvette Roadster. Owned since new. Balanced, blueprinted 383 with Crane cam and Q-Jet. 25 coats of Candy Red paint and American 200S daisy mags. Also have a 2014 Z51 coupe: CRM with grey 3LT interior.
For the past several months, my 72 seems to lose a lot of coolant, though I've never noticed a leak. On Tuesday I was adding coolant and Barr's Stop Leak, and I realized that the radiator cap was TWENTY FOUR YEARS OLD. I installed it when we upgraded the stock peanut plug 350 to a balanced and blueprinted 383 stroker, using the original block and heads. The cap seal was as hard as granite and the bimetallic spring was as stiff as my back after sleeping on the floor. Guess I need to take TIME into consideration when diagnosing a problem. ROFL
