Up dating my air

Up dating my air. Using vir eliminator. What compressor do I use. Probable changing hoses too

There is a newer direct drop in replacement for the A6 compressor called an S6.  Half the weight and less drag on the engine.

Spray it black and slap an original green sticker on it and it will look almost stock.

72 - 73 Vettes had the superheat switch I believe.

Superheat.  Beats me.  Maybe Joel will chime in.  72 and 73 had a superheat switch.  The others I think had a pressure switch.

I'm a pilot, not an a/c guy. 😁

It's a little round switch on the back of the compressor. If pressure gets too high it will blow off and need to be replaced.  It's on any of the long Fridgedaire (A6) compressors for years... I believe they changed to the smaller compressor in 1978..
