Hello everybody !
I am working on the vacumm hose wiper/doors systeme and I am trying to find a trick to get vacumm pressure on the hose without the engine running because the vette is in the garage and here in Quebec it is very cold outside.
now I want to get pressure on the main hose, trying to put vacuum in the systeme.
is there something that I could use to do the job.
I did it with the home cleaning vacuum but no result.
thank's for the help

Norm,
I am not sure how you can charge your vacuum system on your Vette with your in home vacuum system. But there is a trouble shooting guide on wiper and headlight door vacuum systems that is very good. It is wrote by Chris Prow. Here is the web site to the guide.

Sounds like a challenge for the guys on 'Monster Garage'... take one of those units for vaccuum processing food and turn it into a useful tool for in the garage...!!!
I know my bride uses a pump-type machine in the lab where she works to put a vaccuum on bio-process systems. There must be something available on the free market for doing that.

Go to NAPA or wherever and buy a Miti-Vac. It is that hand held vacuum pump that was mentioned above. It it the right tool for the job, and has a great booklet of ideas on what other troubleshooting you can do with it. I used one to find my friend's mustang misfired with <5" vacuum, regardless of throttle position. He was chasing the problem all wrong, thinking it was a WOT carb problem. Joe
Hello everybody !
It is done I have my MITYVAC test kit and after about 5 minutes testing the vacuum systeme I found a leak in one of the smal hose now it is working I here the sssssss when i move the heater/selector from htr to vent .
now how cant I get the wiper door on the helper side to open ???
on the control unit the selector must be on htr or vent or a/c ??

Glad it worked for you. There's nothing like having the right tool for the job. I don't know really how the ventilation system is supposed to work, but I think those kick panel outlets are just for the vent position. The hose could be cracked or loose, or the door could be stuck. Try hooking that mityvac directly to the actuator. Joe
