I think it has to do with an additive package in the base refrigerant, but don't quote me on that.

r 134,,a   is an additive, to 134,,some people think it means,,auto,, not necessarily so,,it really means money to dupont

Just took the test to get 609 certified last month so I could buy some R12. In all the paperwork and study stuff there is no mention of an R134, only the R134a. Lot of other concoctions but no R134.  Mike

There was no R134.  Just R134A.  Sorry, I dont know what the A is.
