Vette(s): White '79 Corvette. It's a driver.
Would having the timing advanced (even a little) cause it to run hotter?

Just food for thought.
Or maybe it is broke.  Is 210 too hot??  Am I shortening the engine life?  Joel?  Anybody??
You know that was my concern. I beleive when I first got her she ran around 175. Then over the course of a couple of monthes that temp got higher and higher, But so did the temp and traffic. So in an attempt to avert a breakdown I was going to be proactive and change themostat (Waterneck was leaking at that point so I put a new gasket and thermo in.) Then problem persisted. So Before trip to MAM I changed Thermo,Ect... and water pump went out.... So now I have a car that is 20 sometimes 30 digrees hotter than it used to with a couple of new parts. I am hope'in to avoid changing the radiator. I do not want to blow the motor as do not have the greenbacks for a new one yet...
