Topic: 4 speed automatic
in Forum: C3 Driveline Components
My TH350 is starting to give me problems. Losing fluid, hard shifting, etc. I'm not really happy with the high engine RPM's with the current setup and am leaning towards replacing the 350TH with a 200R4, 4 speed automatic. I have done some research and the 200R4 is exactly the same size as the 350TH with the exception of the transmission mount. Having stuffed various Big-Blocks in Vegas and Monzas in the past, I feel confident that fabrication of a new mount will not be an issue. I digress.
Has anyone done this swap that can steer me in the right direction?

The only thing that will "bolt in" where a 350 is with no mods is another 350!

A lot of guys are running the 2004R, and a lot are running the 700. Personally, I would opt for the 700, even with the extra mods needed. My 2c.

Well I started with the 200r as a freebie, just going through it now while I have it out. I got it mixed up the overall dimension is the same 350/200r4
In stock form, the 700 is a bit stronger. But the modified 200 can take quite a beating. Some of them can now handle 500 or more HP.
There is less mods required for the 200 than the 700, but the stock 700 is stronger.
