Vette(s): 1975 T-Tops,Lite Custom work,Many engine mod. 700R4 trans. body is shaved,17" wheels bf goodrich g-force tires,heavy sway bars front&rear rack&pinion steering,550 slolom springs with gas shocks.
I just converted my 75, 400 trans. to a 700R4 I love it but my TV cable isn't correct. Has anyone gotten the correct cable and hardware for Edelbrock Performer carb, Edelbrock Intake mounted on a 350sb.
The person who set my trans. up has worked at GM Powertrain for 30yrs. and he says the cable I have isn't working properly. He has built several street rods but never used a Edelbrock carb. The TV cable and bracket I got came from Bowtie Ind. it works but not perfictly. Any help would be greatly wellcomed.
PS. I just signed up on C3VR I can't tell you how nice it is to find other C3 people to talk to,Thanks for being there. |bouncy|

Welcome,

Can't help you with the cable problem though. My 78 has the same tranny but I haven't really gotten to drive it yet to tell if I like it or not (only had it for a week or so )

I have the 200-4R from Bow tie. I had to make my own bracket to attach the cable to the carb because BTO didn't have anything for my carb. The key is making sure the travel is correct. To do this I measured the travel of the throttle plate from idle to full open. It was 70 degrees. With that information I was able to calculate the distance from the center that the cable attachment needed to be to get the 1.610" travel that GM said the cable needed. In my case it meant 1.370" off center. The important thing is that the cable is fully out when at full throttle an that you see the pressure increase as soon as you move the throttle. Check my web page for more.

I have the 700R4 in my '76. I am using a Holley carb. Here is a pic of the cam assembly used for the TV cable. Maybe it will give you an idea of what you may need.

If that link does not work, use the one in my signature and look for 700R4 TV pics. There are two of them taken this morning.

Good luck! |hammer| |wavey|

I would look for something out of the street rod market. My first call would be to Lokar. www.lokar.com
